BT increase line rental and daytime calls

As if an increase in our Electricity and Gas wasn’t enough, now, a majority of us who have a telephone line with BT will see an increase in their line rental and daytime calls.

The telecom giants said line rental would increase from £11 per month to £11.75 per month, while the cost of calls in the daytime would rise from 3.25p to 4.0p per minute.

However, there is some good news. BT will extend free weekend calls to all its customers. Previously, those on the BT Together One plan had to pay for weekend calls, now they will join all other BT customers in enjoying free weekend calls. The offer does not include calls to mobiles.

BT said customers could dodge the extra 75p on line rental if they agreed to paperless [online] billing.
